About.

I’m Andrew Morgan a self-employed gardener based in Norwich, working across Norfolk. I work with residential customers to maintain, develop and improve their gardens. Whether you have a small courtyard or an acre or two I can help.

I haven’t always been a professional gardener, having spent 30 years as a marketer working for financial services companies, banks, service providers and charities. Now I love spending my time outdoors, no matter the weather and getting to meet a wide range of lovely people.

This is how I work and why Thorpe Garden Services might be right for you:

  1. I’m passionate about gardening and am qualified having obtained the Practical Horticulture Certificate (distinction) from the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.

  2. Running a climate friendly business is massively important so I’m aiming for net-zero. Part of this means I use rechargeable battery powered tools, charged entirely by my own solar installation. There is more to do, but this is my starting point.

  3. Often the easy answer has been to pour chemicals into the ground. I want to help wildlife by considering their habitat and avoiding the use of harmful substances. Practically, this means looking for organic substitutes where possible, using complimentary planting, introducing predators and elbow grease rather than immediately reaching for herbicides and pesticides.

  4. Creating the garden that works for you isn’t just restricted to things which grow. I can also help maintain wooden structures – everything from a coat of paint to erecting sheds and fencing. Check out my full range of services here.

  5. Inspiring people with ideas and suggestions of what can be done with their green space is hugely important. Not everyone wants to spend the amount of time I do in the garden but that doesn’t mean the physical and mental health benefits can’t be attained. I regularly blog ideas and tips to help whether you’re a customer or not.

I’ve built a successful business with many happy customers. Some have been kind enough to offer a few kind words. See what they had to say here.
